New Sustainable Farming Incentive Actions Available from Summer 2024
Starting from summer 2024, farmers and land managers will have access to new options under the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) 2024 agreements, which form part of the Combined Environmental Land Management offer. The new actions include:
No-till farming, where crops are established using techniques that minimise soil disturbance.
Multi-species cover crops grown during spring, summer, or autumn, featuring a well-established mix of plant species throughout these seasons.
These new options will complement existing relevant actions from SFI 2023, such as:
Assessing soil, testing soil organic matter, and creating a management plan.
Growing multi-species cover crops over the winter.
Establishing herbal leys.
